About the designers:

Charles and Ray Eames were a pioneering American design duo whose influence spanned architecture, furniture, graphic design, and film. Charles, an architect, and Ray, a painter, combined their talents to revolutionize modern design with an emphasis on functionality, innovation, and aesthetics. They are best known for their groundbreaking work in molded plywood and fiberglass furniture, particularly the iconic Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman and the Eames Molded Plastic Chairs, which remain design classics. Their work with Herman Miller and Vitra helped define mid-century modern style, blending form with mass production techniques. Beyond furniture, they also explored architecture, notably with the Eames House (Case Study House No. 8) in Los Angeles, as well as visual storytelling through films and exhibitions. Their legacy continues to shape contemporary design, embodying a philosophy of creativity, playfulness, and problem-solving.
