Rare Hillestak desk designed by Robin day for Hille London, 1950's. Beautifully contrasting cherry wood top and drawer fronts with a beech frame and legs. 1969



Beautiful desk in clean vintage condition, completely restored with strengthening of the frame so its solid and will last the test of time and suitable for daily use. 


About the designer: 

Robin Day was an iconic British industrial designer, best known for his injection-moulded polypropylene stacking chairs – more than 20 million of which have been manufactured – and his later collaboration with Habitat. He rose to prominence in 1951 when he came up with the seating for the Festival of Britain. This desk was designed a year earlier for London furniture manufacturer, Hille.
