1960s Danish Teakwood Desk by Arne Vodder - SOLD

A rare Arne Vodder 1960's teakwood desk.

Designed in Demark, this Danish desk boasts functionality as well as sculptural elegance.

The desk offers plenty of storage opportunities, with the front featuring a twin set of drawers, whilst the back sees a shelving unit along with a small lockable cupboard.

This feature also means it would sit beautifully in the centre in the room or with the back facing out rather than against a wall.

The body of the desk seems to float within the panels of the desk, making it an aesthetically stunning piece of Vintage Danish Design.

In very good vintage condition, this piece has been exceptionally well looked after.

About the Designer:

Arne Vodder was a leading light of what might be called the “second generation” of forward-thinking 20th-century Danish furniture designers — those who, following in the footsteps of Hans Wegner, Arne Jacobsen, Finn Juhl and others, first applied the skills, traditions and philosophical tenets of Danish craftsmanship to a modern furniture idiom.

Vodder’s is best known for his simplistic design pieces composed of natural materials such as rosewood and teak, often inspired by the natural forms
