Kai Kristiansen is a Danish furniture designer renowned for his innovative and functional designs that epitomize the mid-century modern aesthetic. Born in 1929, Kristiansen trained as a cabinetmaker before studying at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts under the legendary Kaare Klint. His work, characterized by clean lines, organic forms, and impeccable craftsmanship, includes iconic pieces such as the No. 42 Chair and the FM Reolsystem. Kristiansen's designs remain highly sought after and continue to influence contemporary furniture design, underscoring his legacy as a master of Danish modernism.
