Pair of Mid 20th Century Italian Walnut "Medea" Chairs by Vittorio Nobili

A Pair of Mid 20th Century Italian Walnut "Medea" Occassional Chairs by Vittorio Nobili for Fratelli Tagliabue.

Set upon black lacquered steel legs, the walnut veneered bentwood sculpted seat compliments the natural human form.

First advertised in Domus Issue 329 in April 1955, they have become an iconic piece of mid century design and highly collectable.

This particular model, the Medea, won the prestigious Industrial Design Award Compass d'Oro in 1955. These chairs are a perfect representation of the organic modern style.

Manufacturer's mark can be seen on the underside of the seats.
