1950s Double Helix Sideboard By Gordon Russell - SOLD

A Mahogany and rosewood sideboard designed by David Booth and Judith Ledeboer for Gordon Russell of Broadway.Model 407 originally exhibited at the Festival of Britain in 1951, later went into production in 1953, it has since become an iconic piece of mid 20th century furniture and the V&A hold an example in their permanent collection.

It features a mahogany frame and rosewood veneer door fronts with the pattern routed out to reveal the white birch beneath. It has a double cupboard with brass drop handles containing an internal shelf and a sectioned drawer. Great vintage condition, with minimal signs of usage expected for its age. Makers label on the back.
