About the Designer:
Richard Young always enjoyed pencil and chalk drawings however he studied engineering and graduated in 1983. A self-taught professional Artist, born in Yorkshire, Richard is now based in Wokingham, the UK where he has his studio. He has exhibited all around the world and has seen a number of his paintings receive accolades and awards.
Richard has created his own style and technique, tacking influence from and inspired by the realism and romanticism of his favourite post-renaissance classical Masters and their timeless, romantic masterpieces. He often creates oil paintings using only a knife, often in a limited colour palette and mixing only on the canvas. The artwork compositions mostly entail dramatic lighting and shading, in high contrast, as he is fascinated with how light influences the subject he is drawing. Predominantly figurative, he aims to capture a carefully composed aloof anonymity, mood, atmosphere, drama, He has exhibited all around the world and has seen a number of his paintings receive accolades and awards
