Contemporary edition of the Saarinen Conference Chair in Navy and Beige Wool.
An iconic design by Eero Saarinen first introduced in 1957, this style of chair revolutionised the notion of what executive seating could be.
With simple semi-circular shaping and a streamlined silhouette, the Saarinen Conference Armchair offers comfort through its sculptural form.
Its contemporary style has been reimagined through its beige and navy wool upholstery.
Supported by four natural oak legs, the Conference Chair is awarded a rustic touch with the grain of the wood, complimenting the wool upholstery.
Underneath the chair, the manufacturing label for Vitra can be seen.
About the designer:
Eero Saarinen was a Finnish-American architect and industrial designer noted for his wide-ranging array of designs for buildings and monuments.
A leader of the second-generation modernists, his designs employed modern materials in graceful, organic and sculptural shapes.
Constantly pushing material and aesthetic boundaries, Saarinen expanded the modern vocabulary to include curvilinear and organically-inspired forms not found in the work of his predecessors.
