A set Rosewood 'Scandia' dining chairs in Rosewood by Norwegian designer Hans Brattrud. 
 
A classic example of excellent mid century modern design dating from 1960's. 
This design is one of the finest to emerge from post war Scandinavia. Timeless and simplistic organic forms echo the shape of the body resulting in a extremely comfortable chair. 
Upholstered in sage and kaki coloured hopsack and their seats are set on Chromed steel bases with beautiful patterned wood grain throughout.  
 
About the designer: 
Hans Brattrud is a Norwegian furniture designer best known for his widely imitated Scandia chair design, which combines laminated wood on a pliable wire frame, allowing multiple chairs to be stacked on top on each other for easy storage. Born in 1933 in Norway he went on to study at the National College of Art and Design in Olso where he first invented the scandia chair for a class project in 1957. in 1967 the stackable chair was awarded the gold medal at the International Arts and Crafts Fair in Munich.
